Petroleum butter for wood drying
Petroleum butter — oil distillation product, contains mix of paraffin and ceresins; light brown waxy weight, has temperature of drop falling of 50 — 60 °C, and flashes of 260 — 280 °C.
Petroleum butter in water is not dissolved and does not mix up. When heating to 130... 140 °C petroleum butter turn into mobile liquid into which the dried wood plunges. The moisture which is in wood evaporates and removed. In petroleum butter wood dries several times quicker (several hours), than in drying rooms, and material does not crack and is not jarred on.
